Chester CT Speeders TouristsChester Connecticut Speeding Vehicles Speeders Why don't they get tickets?
I have said it before, many times, and will say it again and again....
I hope the people that live in Chester, CT., aren't afraid and don't care, because I do. I really care about the danger factor on the road in front of me, in front of my house. I do not see at all, why these people are not getting ticketed. Hopefully soon, the law will change and the amount from speeding tickets will go to the town and not the state; I also hope these people, benefitting by coming and enjoying our town, learn and do not feel, just because they do not live here, they need not act responsibly. I'm not sure they do in the first place. They come to our town, benefit from it, yet speed away like some rebel, endangering everyone? As if hearing some loud, roaring man-made-and-marketed machine coming toward you isn't enough, the speed limit on this road is TWENTY FIVE (25) MILES PER HOUR. The speed limit was not set to repress anyone; it was set because the type of community we have. Kids playing, dogs being walked, simple life to be enjoyed. You come and you enjoy our town and local establishments and we're happy to give you a place to be noticed, but tearing up the backroads with your loud-ass bikes, is a slap in the face. There is nothing wrong with admitting you want attention, people do things for attention, all kinds of things. Whether having the loudest motorbike around or a fancy car or whatever. Don't live in denial, everyone wants a bit of attention.
One thing that cracks me up is the loud pipes on bikes. The most legitimate argument I have seen is they have them because it increases horsepower on the bike; as if such a vehicle needs a few more horsepower. Like, "You're bike is ON." Do you need to sit and rev... the motor?! Look at me, I'm dying for attention. Don't live in denial, people. The reason most people have modified pipes on their bikes to make them louder is so they can be noticed. Another argument is they alert others of their presence, ya, well this goes along with what I'm saying. People on the road need to have more appreciation of that fact. Any idiot in a car or on a bike will threaten you or act tough, but take away that inefficient, gas driven, by contained explosion, machine and they are hardly going to hoof it anywhere. Doesn't it make more sense to give someone on a bicycle MORE room to huff it, rather than tell them to get out of the road? Seriously now, folks, rather than act tough and shake your rattle as loud as you can, how about taking some time off and giving someone a break.
