Preserve the Sound fund raped

Governor Rell signs into law, "Preserve the Sound" funds moved to State's General Fund

I really cannot get over some of the crap that goes on around the world, even in the small-towns around me. Gov. Rell signed into law, a bill that removes the funds from the "Preserve the Sound" program and places them in the states general funds. For more than 15 years, the state has been selling special license plates and the money has gone into programs to maintain and keep the wonderful Long Island Sound clean and as of October 1, 2009, the law is in effect. This stuff has got to end. Corrupt politicans are scamming the people and diverting money away from things we need while keeping other b.s. programs going. They threaten to take money from schools, yet they still have people mowing parts of the highways that don't need to be mowed. Last week I saw three mowers and a few other state trucks on the highway, mowing, I'm not sure why or even what because the grass was not high at all. What a waste of money and resources this is. What reason would they need to even mow these areas?
The small town of Deep River, CT. recently received another grant from the state for $200,000 to pretty up the town and now they've got some outside contractors, half-a-dozen at least guys, taking 10 minutes to cut a single brick, rebuilding, for the 3rd I think, time in the past couple of years, the sidewalk outside of the town hall. Right next to the town hall is a brand new Walgreens. There is a Walgreens in Old Saybrook, CT. about 8 miles away, another in Westbrook and another in Clinton, the two consecutive towns south of Saybrook, all 3 right on Route 1. Do people really need that many Walgreens? Obviously the company is making money, are they donating to the town? Or are they donating to politicians in the towns?! As well, the stores are large footprints, why are they not required to put up solar panels, which could help pay to keep the lights they leave on, all night long, obviously for extra advertising. A friend of mine was telling me about these boilers from Germany, that are set to turn off at night, apparently because it is law there; they turn them off to conserve energy. Meanwhile, Americans are still driving big, gas guzzling vehicles. Why? Because we're all conditioned into thinking bigger is better and a bigger vehicle gives people a false sense of security. And companies love it, Americans are driving gas guzzlers and the oil companies are making plenty of money off the sale of gasoline, as well the politicians are getting kickbacks from the oil sales. Not all Americans are this way, but I feel bad for those who don't even have a clue they've been trained to think a car is such a necessity, they're just being fooled by people making tons of money off their ignorance.

"Calgon... take me away!!!"
